Fred Hudson, 82, of Sarasota, FL, died at 6 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 1, 1974) at Sarasota Memorial Hospital Hudson was a school teacher for 33 years in Montgomery County. He resided in Waynetown and Alamo before he moved to Florida in 1950 when he retired. He was a member of the Waynetown United Methodist Church. He graduated from Central Normal College at Danville, IN. Born Feb. 29, 1892, near Mellott, he was the son of Thomas J. and Viola Whitman Hudson. He married Vona Ellis near Hillsboro in May of 1916. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Gerald of Lafayette; a daughter, Mrs. Kathleen DeReicher of Sarasota; four brothers, B. D. of Crawfordsville, Gu and Rosco, both of Alamo and Moreland of Darlington; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Pearson of Crawfordsville Route 4; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home. Burial will be in Alamo Cemetery. Other arrangements are incomplete. --tch
