Ealy N. Hoyt, 57 died last Thursday evening at his home in Covington following an illness of many months. He was born Aug 31, 1895 at St. Joseph, Ill the son of Norman C and Ella Walker Hoyt. He married Nora Frankenberger in 1923 who survives. Surviving in addition to the wife are two daughters: Mrs. Betty Lou Wertz of Williamsport and Mrs. Barbara Tracy of Lafayette; a stepmother of Urbana; six brothers and sisters, Anson of Niles, Mich; Mrs. Frank Jones of St. Joseph; Mrs. Ross Phenicle of Tucson, Ariz; Mrs. Roy Phenicle of Urbana; Mrs. Clifford Fears of Urbana and James of Pekin and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, his parents and four brothers. Mr. Hoyt, who was Covington night policeman for five years held membership in Fountain Lodge 60, F&AM; Covington Methodist Church and as a veteran of three years service in World War I, two years of which were spent overseas. He was a farmer before moving to Covington in 1932. Funeral services were Sunday afternoon with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery. - kbz
