Mrs. Docia Howard, 70, life long resident of Mellott died at the home of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Mildred Howard of near Mellott at noon Tuesday following a heart attack. She was born in Mellott July 16, 1883 the daughter of Wallace and Mary Wood Cecil. She was married to Fenton Howard in 1900 who preceded her in death. She was a member of the Congregational Christian Church of Mellott. Survivors are a son, Homer of Attica; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Mitchell of Huberston, Mich; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A daughter Mrs. Lois Brown also preceded her in death in 1930. Rev. Guy Walters conducted the funeral service held at the Congregational Christian Church in Mellott at 2 p.m. Thursday and burial was in Union Cemetery west of Newtown. – kbz
