HORTON, William D. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

William D. Horton of RR 3, Veedersburg, age 82, died Sunday afternoon, April 10, at his home. He was born in Blackwater, Virginia, March 14, 1901, the son of James T. and Myrtle Glass Horton. February 14, 1924, he married Cora M. Deweese, who survives. He was a retired farmer.

  Also surviving are three sons, Earl of Brookston, Don of Rankin and Gale of RR 3, Veedersburg; a granddaughter, Cheryl Owens Pentecost of Danville, whom the couple reared; a sister, Ella Naugle of Salem; 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Paul Ray officiating. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery at Covington. – thanks to S
