Elva E. Hornaday, 86, of Covington, died Thursday (October 23, 1986) at 3:23 a. m. at Lakeview Medical Center in Danville. She had been a patient for four days and ill several months. She was a resident of Covington most of her life, graduating from Covington High School and Lakeview School Nursing in 1924. She was a member of the Covington Senior Citizens, Troy Chapter 145 OES, Salem United Methodist Church and was a past chief of Pythian Sisters of Covington. She worked for Windbreaker Jacket Factory in Danville for 33 years. She was the daughter of Maurice and Edith Blanche Claypool Young. Survivors: two daughters, Mrs. Calvin (Jean) Brown of Momence, Ill., and Mrs. Mary Jane O'Malley of Colorado Springs, Colo,; two sons, Earl of Attica and Richard of Covington; nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah (sic/Clara) Ratcliff of Covington and Mrs. Myra Coffing of Newtown; a brother, William Young. She was preceded in death by three sisters, a brother, and a grand child. Services: 11 a. m. Saturday at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington; Officiating: Paul Ziebart; burial: Riverside Cemetery, Attica; visitation: 4-8 p. m. Friday at the Funeral Home.
