Boswell—Elma Doris Hoppes, 91, Route 1, Boswell, died at 8:50 p.m. Thursday, June 22, 1989 in Community Hospital, Williamsport, shortly after admission.
She was born June 2, 1898, near Rainsville, in Warren County, the daughter of Everett B. and Louise Jane Hillyer Reed. She was married May 27, 1916 in Covington to Clarence H. Hoppes, who preceded her in death Dec. 3, 1968.
She formerly lived in Attica and had resided in Warren County since 1916. She attended Attica School and was a homemaker.
Surviving are three daughters, Thelma Hoppes and Dorothy Hoppes, both of Route 1, Boswell, and Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Haniford, Route 1, Pine Village; one son, Eugene, Gainesville, Fla.; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Adah Keefer, Dec. 20, 1987, and two other sisters.
Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Maus Funeral Home Chapel, Attica, with the Rev. Irvin t. King officiating. Burial was in Rainsville Cemetery.
