KINGMAN — John Franklin Hoover, 70, of Kingman, died Friday at Lakeview Hospital in Danville, Ill. He was born July 26, 1896, in Veedersburg the son of James F. and Jane Titsworth Hoover. He was married to Sarah A. Clift Feb. 22, 1920. Survivors include the widow; a son, Lawrence M. of Crawfordsville; four daughters, Mary Jane Allen of Kingman, Sarah K. Thornberry of Crown Point, Opal Pauline Hutts of Bloomington and Rozella M. Lowery of Anderson; two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Howard of Veedersburg and Mrs. Opal Confer of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; two brothers, Kenneth M. of Muncie and Willie A. of Veedersburg; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles J. of Muncie. Funeral services will be conducted at the Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman at 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. Lowel Barnard officiating. Burial will follow in the Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.  --typed by Walt W

Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Veedersburg, Ind.—Franklin Hoover, 70, a resident of the Steam Corner community, died Friday (Sept. 2, 1966) at Lake View Memorial Hospital, Danville, where he had been a patient three days. Born in Indiana July 26, 1896, he was the son of James and Jane Hoover. He was married Feb. 22, 1920, to Sarah Clift who survives. Other survivors include: A son, Lawrence of Crawfordsville; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Allen of Kingman. Mrs. Sarah Thornberry of Crown Point, Mrs. Opal Pauline Hutts of Bloomington, Ind., and Mrs. Rozella Lowery of Anderson; two brothers, Kenneth of Muncie, Ind., and Willie of Veedersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Mamie Howard of Veedersburg and Mrs. Opal Cooper of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death. He was a retired farmer and member of the Veedersburg Methodist Church. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman. The Rev. Lowell Barnard will officiate, with burial in Rockfield Cemetery near Veedersburg. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday.  --typed by Walt W
