ATTICA — Mildred Lucille (Wymer) Holm, 92, 808 Park Ave., Attica, died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005 in St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She was born April 2, 1913 near Alma, Mich., the daughter of Francis M. and Isabelle (Douge) Wymer. She married Victor L. Holm May 23, 1936 in New Haven. He preceded in death Sept. 3, 2001. She was raised near Alma, Mich., attending Alma High School. She had resided in Attica since 1936. She was a member of the Attica First United Methodist Church. She was active in the Thrift Shop of the church. She taught chair caning at the Fountain County 4-H Building and demonstrated chair caning at the Potawatomi Festival in Attica for many years. Besides caning chairs, she enjoyed quilting, crocheting and sewing. She was active in scouting where she served as both a Girl Scout Leader and Den Mother for the Boy Scouts for several years. For 20 years, she enjoyed spending summers with her family at Lake Matinenda, in Ontario, Canada, where she was an avid fisherwoman. She was known for her good sense of humor and impish pranks. Survivors include: a son, Eric A. (Nancy) Holm, Bloomington; a grandson, Jeremy (Ashli) Moore, McCordsville; two step grandsons, David and Eric Brand, both of New York; a great-grandson, Austin Clayton Moore; and three great-grandchildren, Leah, Eli and Garrett Brand. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Karen Moore and an infant daughter, Eleanor Holm; and two sisters. Funeral services were 3 p.m. Saturday in Maus Funeral Home, Attica, with Pastor Ron Mabry officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
