Howard P. Holland, age 53, of Attica, died at 11 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, at the Community Hospital in Williamsport. He had been in ill health for three years and was admitted 45 minutes earlier. Death was attributed to a self-inflicted gunshot wound by investigating officers. Mr. Holland was born May 31, 1913, in Fountain County, the son of Charles and Ethel Pavey Holland. He was a life resident of the county. He was married April 24, 1955, in Williamsport, to Thelma Kathleen Parkerson, who survives. He attended Kingman schools and was a watchman for the Harrison Steel Foundry for two years. He also had been employed by the Fountain County Highway Department. He was a member of the Christian Church in Covington. Surviving, in addition to the wife, are: three sons, William E. at home, Larry L. of Veedersburg and Charles D. of Crawfordsville; one sister, Mrs. Bethavene Kern of Olivet, Ill.; and three brothers, Glenwood of Veedersburg, Gordon of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Gaton of Lake Orion, Mich. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the DeSutter Funeral Home in Attica. The Rev. Harry Randolph officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Attica. --typed by Walt W
