Veedersburg -- Herman E. HOLDER, 77, of Veedersburg died at 12:45 p.m. Saturday in Indiana Veteran's Home at Lafayette. He resided in Rileysburg, Indiana until 1977 when he retired from farming and moved to Veedersburg. Mr. Holder was a graduate of Perrysville HS and was a Navy vet of WWII. He was a former board member and president of Collett Home at Cayuga and North Vermillion School Corp board; a former member of Vermillion Co Fair Board and Veedersburg Town Board; and former director of W. Central Indiana CoOp Assoc at Veedersburg. He was a member, past master and trustee of Unity Lodge 344 F & AM at Perrysville and was a member of Scottish Rite Valley at Terre Haute, Murat Shrine at Indianapolis, Perrysville and Veedersburg Lions Clubs and Walter Hoyt Chapter 350 American Legion at Perrysville. Hew as born Jan 22, 1912 at Perrysville to William F. and Zadie Stutler Holder. He married Josephine Daughterty McMahon Nov 26, 1952. She survives. Other survivors include a stepdaughter, Leslie McDonald, 3 step grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington with Rev. Grover Williams officiating. Burial in Sunset Memorial Park at ? Ill where military gravesite services will be conducted. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Masonic services will follow at 8 p.m.

Veedersburg—Herman E. Holder, 77, Route 4, Veedersburg, died at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, April 8, 1989 at the Indiana Veterans Home, Lafayette.

  He was born Jan. 22, 1912 near Perrysville, the son of William Franklin and Zadie Stutler Holder. He was married Nov. 26, 1952 to Josephine Daugherty McMahon, who survives.

  He was a resident of the Rileysburg area until 1977, when he retired from farming and moved to Veedersburg. He was a graduate of Perrysville High School and a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II.

  He was a former board member and president of the Collett Home at Cayuga for many years. He was a former board member and president of the North Vermillion School Corporation, former member of the Veedersburg Town Board, a member of the Vermillion County Fair Board for 10 years, a former director of West Central Indiana Cooperative Association, a member, past master and trustee of Unity Lodge No. 344 F&AM, member of Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, Murat Shrine of Indianapolis, Perrysville and Veedersburg Lions clubs and the Walter Hoyt Post No. 350 of the American Legion.

  Surviving besides his wife are a stepdaughter, Leslie McDonald, Indianapolis; three step grandchildren, Kathleen Greenough and Melissa Willing, both of Indianapolis, and David McDonald, Portland, Ore.; seven step great grandchildren and three cousins, Lola Dunavan, Route 1, Perrysville; Floyd Stutler, Route 2, Williamsport, and Lora Walters, Route 1, Covington.
  Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with the Rev. Grover Williams officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park with military graveside services.
