  Mellott—Paul C. Holden, 89, of Mellott, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday (March 4, 1973) at the Woodland Manor Nursing Center in Attica. He had been a patient for three weeks. Born March 28, 1883 in Brookville, he was the son of Albert and Margaret Holden. He married Cora Oakley, July 21, 1935 at Kokomo. She survives.
  He lived in Mellott for 80 years and operated a blacksmith shop and later a garage in Mellott until his retirement in 1949.
  He attended Mellott schools and was a member of the Mellott United Church of Christ.
  Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lucille Myers of Lafayette, a stepson George Oakley of Mellott; two sisters, Mrs. Dollie Parkinson of Kokomo and Mrs. Nona Wade of Crawfordsville, six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
  He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers, a sister and a granddaughter.
  Services were at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Crumley Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro with the Rev. Clyde K. Hunter officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery. – thanks to “S”

He had resided in Mellott for the past 80 years and had operated a blacksmith shop and later a garage in Mellott. He retired in 1949. He attended the Mellott schools and was a member of the Mellott United Church of Christ. Survivors include a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lucile Myers of Lafayette; a step-son, George Oakley of Mellott; two sisters, Mrs. Dollie Parkinson of Kokomo and Mrs. Nona Wade of Crawfordsville, six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, three brothers, a sister and a granddaughter. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. EST Wednesday at the Crumley-Williams Funeral Home in Hillsboro, with the Rev. Clyde K.
