MELLOTT – Paul H. “Popeye” Holden, 67, a longtime Mellott resident, died Saturday at 2:30 p.m. in Community Hospital at Williamsport. He was born June 24, 1902, in the community of Aylesworth, near Attica, the son of Ora and Sina DeArmonde Holden. He retired in 1964 from National Homes Corp. at Lafayette, where he had been employed for several years. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Esther Tayton, a niece, and a nephew. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Crumley-Williams Funeral Home at Hillsboro, with Rev. George Phelps of Newton officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery northwest of Mellott, and friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. – jlr
