William Earl Hodge, age 86, a resident of Covington for the past 60 years, died at 5:30 a.m. Nursing Home in Waynetown, where he had been a patient five weeks. He had been ill since September. Mr. Hodge was born Sept. 23, 1878, in Homer, Ill., the son of Daniel and Flora Mae McKenney Hodge. He was married Dec. 28, 1904 to Clara Noble and he had resided in Covington since then. He is survived by: one son, Arthur of Danville, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Bertha Cruea, Mrs. Minnie West and Mrs. Nellie Levi, all of Covington; two brothers, Frank and Jess, both of Hayward, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one son, one daughter, one brother and three sisters. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Hegg Funeral Home in Covington. The Rev. Glenn Ray, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Covington, officiated and burial was in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ambrose Hegg, Bob Dunagan, Dave Noble, Arthur Cruea, Tom Ware and Marvin Peck. --typed by Walt W
