Tlitha O. Hinkle, 85,
of Cayuga, died at 4:50 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2000 at Provena USMC, Logan
Campus, Danville, Illinois. Born March 8, 1915 in Vermillion County, she was
the daughter of the late Ike and Blanche (Jones) Dugger. Mrs. Hinkle first
married Lewis L. Wigley on March 7, 1930. He preceded her in death on January
8, 1943. She then married Harold Franklin Hinkle on December 7, 1943 at
Newport. He preceded her in death on October 16, 1990. Surviving, are: five
sons, George (Linda) Hinkle of Georgetown, Ill., Frank Hinkle of Cayuga, Carl
(Alta) Hinkle of Spring Hill, F1a., Bob (Patty) Hinkle of Dana and Mike
(Rhonda) Hinkle of Covington; six daughters, Dorothy (Jake) Johnson of
Indianola, Ill., Joan Hill of Danville, Ill., Linda (Jack) Carter of
Veedersburg, Diana (Jerold) McBeath of Kingman, Sue (Bud) Myers of Cayuga and
Nancy (Mike) Grimes of Danville; 35 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and
11 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Uplinger of Cayuga and Gladys
(Don) Gritten of Danville; and a brother, Roy Trosper of Winchester. She was
also preceded in death by a daughter, Elsie Wooten; four grandchildren, one
great-grandchild, one great-great-grandchild, three brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Hinkle was a homemaker and a member of the Cayuga American Legion
Auxiliary, Rainbow Post #263. She enjoyed playing bingo and walking. Visitation
from 4-8 p.m. EST Thursday at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home, Cayuga, with
auxiliary services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral service there at 11 a.m. Friday with
Rev. Andy Spencer officiating. Interment in Eugene Cemetery. Family requests
contributions to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
