HILLYER, Norma Clawson - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Norma D. Hillyer of Williamsport, age 60, died Sunday morning, January 16, in Williamsport Community Hospital. She was born in Fountain County, July 11, 1922, the daughter of Harold and Georgia Clark Clawson. January 1, 1945, she married S. Wayne Hillyer, who survives. She was a member of Attica-Williamsport Presbyterian Church and Hospital Guild.

  Mrs. Hillyer was a graduate of Covington High School and Lakeview School of Nursing at Danville, Illinois. She worked eight years in Lakeview Hospital emergency room and was named director of nursing at Community Hospital in Williamsport in 1967. May 1, 1968, she became administrator of the hospital and served in that position for 11 years.

  Also surviving are her mother of Rossville; a daughter, Andrea Hammersley of Peru; a son, Randy of Lafayette; two sisters, Jean Baker of College Park, Maryland, and Loretta Lowery; and three grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Maus Funeral Home in Attica with Rev. Kenneth Burns officiating. Burial was in Highland Cemetery at Williamsport. – thanks to S
