James Hamilton Hill, 79, of
Covington, died at 8:54 a.m. Friday, July 24, 1998 at Provena USMC, Logan
Campus, Danville, Ill. Born Nov. 8, 1918 in Danville, he was the son of the
late Edward and Mary (Tanner) Hill. He married Wilma Ruth White Moreman on
September 22, 1957 in Danville. She preceded him in death on June 18, 1996.
Surviving, are: two stepsons, Michael W. (Ellen) Moreman of Shelbyville, Ill.
and Ronald L. Moreman of Danville; a sister, Ruth Norris of Danville; nine
grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by
a daughter, Sue Porter; a sister and five brothers. Mr. Hill was a World War II
veteran, serving with the U.S. Army. He had retired in 1975 as a railroad
switchman for the C & EI Railroad. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and yard
sales. Visitation was Monday at Pape Memorial Home & Gardens. Service there
on Tuesday. Interment in Danville National Cemetery. – jlr
