Waynetown, Nov 20 -- Charles A. Higbee, 81, died at his home here at 10:30 o'clock this morning. He suffered a stroke one week ago today. Mr. Higbee was born near Waynetown, Sept 2, 1857, the son of John and Ruth Sayres Higbee and lived all his life in Montgomery and Fountain counties. He had resided here the past 10 years. On August 4, 1880, he married Josie Phillips, who expired Sept 26, 1921. He was married for a second time, April 16, 1922 to Bertha Jahnke, who survives. He was a member of the Baptist CHurch. He is survived by three sons, John Higbee, Crawfordsville and Fred Higbee, Indianapolis and Clifford Higbee, Mellott, one daughter, Mrs. Ross Humphreys, Waynetown; one brother, Alonzo Higbee, Waynetown; five grandchildren, and one great grandchild survive. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Baptist Church here with Rev. Guy E. Tremaine, pastor of the Methodist Church and REv. IC Overman, Baptist pastor in charge. Burial in Masonic cemetery here. - kbz
