Attica - Mrs. Minnie Alice Hidy, 72, died at 9:20 p.m. Sunday in her home, 112 W. Lithia, after a long illness. Born in Vermillion County, Illinois she lived in Attica 42 years and was married in 1911 to Edgar Hidy who died in 1954. The couple operated a florist shop for 19 years. SHe was a member of the Methodist Church Wabash Temple No 439 Pythian Sisters Women of Attica Loyal Order of Moose No 23, women's Loyal Order of Moose No 23, women's auxiliary of VFW Post No 3318 and Business and Professional Women's Club. Surviving are a son, Chester at home; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Clark, Attica, Mrs. Betty Brown, Candler, Arix and Mrs. Patricia Sullivan, Boswell and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Berg, Cook, Minn and Mrs. Elizabeth Kinney, Danville, Ill.

Funeral Notices - Hidy, Mrs. Minnie A. - Friends may call at DeSutter Funeral Home, Attica after 7 p.m. Tuesday. The body will lie in state one hour before service in Attica Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Mrs. Minnie Alice Hidy, 72, of Attica died at 9:20 p.m. Sunday (March 10, 1957) at her home on W. Lithia St. following an extended illness.
She was born July 26, 1884, in Vermilion County, Ill., daughter of Franklin and Mary Lockhart O'Toole and was married Dec. 22, 1911, to Edgar Hidy, who preceded her in death in October, 1954.
Mrs. Hidy had resided in Attica 42 years and was a florist for 19 years. She was a member of the Attica First Methodist Church, Wabash Temple 439, Pythian Sisters, Women of the Moose, Auxiliary of Post 3318, Veteran of Foreign Wars, and of the Attica Business and Professional Women Club.
Surviving are a son, Chester at home; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Clark of Attica, Mrs. Betty Brown of Chandler, Ariz., and Mrs. Patricia Sullivan of Boswell; two sisters, Mrs. Berg of Cook, Minn., and Mrs. Elizabeth Kinney of Danville, and nine grandchildren.
Services were held at the Methodist Church on Thursday, with Dr. Harry Campbell and the Rev. Headley Cobb of Hartford City, officiating. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery with DeSutter Funeral Home in charge. - jz
