Edgar John Hidy, 66, operator of a florist shop in Attica died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 5 a.m. Saturday Oct 23, 1954 at his home.  Mr. Hidy was employed 33 years ago Harrison Steel Castings Co as night superintendent and then resigned in 1938 to open a floral business.  He was born March 19, 1888 in Pennsville, Ind son of Mason and Mary Elizabeth Taylor Hidy and married Minnie O’Toole of Attica Dec 22, 1911.  Surviving are the wife; a son, Chester of Attica; three daughters: Mrs. Morris Clark of Attica; Mrs. Robert Sullivan of Boswell and Mrs.. Jack Brown of Del Rio, Tex; two brothers, William M of Attica and Mason E. of Rockville, and 7 grandchildren. He was a member of the Attica Methodist Church, Loyal Order of Moose and Williamsport Knights of Pythias. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon with burial at Riverside Cemetery.  DeSutter Funeral Home was in charge. – kbz
