Services were held at 2 p. m. Friday, Nov. 5, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home for George Curtis Hicks, age 88, retired mining engineer of Ouray, Colo., and a former resident of Perrysville, who died Sunday, Nov. 20 in a hospital in Durango, Colo., where he had been a patient one week. Born April 30, 1872, at Perrysville, he was the son of George R. and Gertrude Riggs Hicks. He had been a farmer in the Perrysville area and also had been employed on the railroad. Mr. Hicks also had resided in Florida for several years before going to Colorado in 1919. Survivors include two brothers, James of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Daniel of Perrysville; two sisters, Mrs. Lulu Tillotson of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Mrs. Frances George of Bay Field, Colo., and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. Short services were conducted in Colorado before the body was returned here. The Rev. Kenneth Burns officiated the services here. Burial was in the Hicks Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Jene Hicks, Ray and Carl Hicks, James Coffing, Joseph McClellan and George Tillotson. -- typed by Walt W
