ATTICA -- Mrs. Mary Edna Hickman, 83, Rt. 1, Attica, died at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, 8:15 a.m. Monday. She had been a patient there since Saturday.

Mary Edna Hickman, 83, Rt. 1, Attica, died 8:15 a.m.Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Lafayette, where she had been a Patient since Saturday. She had been in the Americana Nursing Home in Lafayette the past three years, and ill health for about five years.
She was born in Warren County on Jan. 7, 1887, the daughter of William Henry and Fanny Shackleton Allen. She had lived at Rt. 1, Attica, since 14 and had lived in the Attica area all her life. She was married June 27, 1908 in Williamsport to Donald Hickman, who preceded her in death in 1962. She graduated from Attica High School in 1905 and taught school in Winthrop for one year before her marriage. She was a member of the Newtown United Methodist Church and a member of the WSCS of the church. She was also a member of the Bethel Community Circle.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Anna McKinzie, Williamsport, and Mrs. Pearl Reid of East Chicago. Three grandchildren also survive. One son, Allen, preceded her in death in 1964 and one daughter, Mary Elizabeth, preceded her in death in 1918. She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Friends will be received at DeSutter Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in thee Desutter Chapel, with Rev. Walter Williams officiating. Interment will be in ....... cut off.......

Funeral services for Mary Hickman, 83, of Rt. 1, Attica, who died 8:15 a.m. Monday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, were held 2 p.m. Wednesday at DeSutter Funeral Home, with Rev. Walter Williams officiating.
Serving as pallbearers were Virgil Johnson, Dean Marlatt, Encil Marlatt, Clinton Florey, Charles Reynolds and Lawrence DeSutter Sr.
Interment followed in the family lot in Riverside Cemetery with DeSutter Funeral Home in charge.
