Rev. Hiatt, 65, Of Veedersburg, Dies In Pulpit
VEEDERSBURG - Rev. Dallas Leroy Hiatt, 65, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene, fell dead in the pulpit at 8 p.m. Sunday as he was preparing to deliver his sermon. He had suffered for some time from a heart ailment. Born March 28, 1899 at Carmel, Ind., he was a son of William and Sarah Bundy Hiatt. He was married to Ruth Binkley Nov. 8, 1938 at Nashua, Iowa. She survives with a brother, Glenn Hiatt, of Indianapolis, and nieces and nephews. Rev. Hiatt, who lived here at 410 S. Mill St., was a Marine veteran of World War I. He had served as Nazarent pastor here the last three years. The body was taken to the Fishero Funeral Home, where arrangements are incomplete.
