Mrs. Sarah J. HERSHBERGER, widow of Jeremiah died at her home in Covington on Friday night about 10 o'clock, following a long illness. She was born Dec 19, 1850 near Covington. Her husband died about 20 years ago but she is survived by two children, Mrs. John McCoy of Covington and Otho Hershberger of Ft. Wayne. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the Baptist Church Rev HH Elmore officiating. Interment was made in the Mt. Hope Cemetery at Covington.

Mrs. Sarah J. Hershberger, 78, widow of Jeremiah Hershberger, passed away at her home in Covington Friday evening. She had been ill for a long time. Two children, Mrs. John McCoy of Covington and Otto Hershberger of Fort Wayne are survivals. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Monday with burial at the Mt. Hope cemetery. Also Covington Republican May 17 1929 and June 7 1929: Sarah Jane Foster, daughter of Joseph and Mahala DeHaven Foster was born in the Bend of the River, north of Covington, Dec 19 1850, died May 10 1929, age 78 years, 4 months and 21 days. She was married to Jeremiah Hershberger, March 2 1871, to this union were born three children, namely, Edith, who died in infancy; Mrs. Bertha Gertrude McCoy of this city and Mr. Otho D. Hershberger of Ft. Wayne, Ind. she is survived by the daughter Mrs. McCoy and son, Otho, also by two grandchildren, Mildred and Carrol Hershberger. In early life she joined the Kentuck Baptist church, later transferring her membership to the Covington Baptist church, in which she was an energetic worker and consistent member. Practically her whole life was spent in Covington and vicinity.
