HILLSBORO — Marilyn (Daugherty)
Hershberger, 76, 1882 E. Twin Lakes Road, Hillsboro, died at 4:35 a.m. Sunday,
July 9, 2006 in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born Oct. 29, 1929
in Attica, the daughter of Chester C. and Lyleth M. (Greenman) Daugherty. She
married James M. Hershberger Feb. 17, 1952 in Attica. He preceded in death Feb.
25, 2004. She was raised in Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1947.
She had resided in Hillsboro since 1952. She formerly worked at Twin Lakes Camp
and Resort south of Hillsboro. She had formerly owned and operated a local
restaurant on the east side of Hillsboro for many years. She was a member of
the Hillsboro United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women; a charter
member of the W.W.U. Class of the church and a former member of the church
choir; member of Hillsboro Harmony Club, the "Penguin Club," a group
of her former classmates; the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary of Hillsboro;
and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary of Covington. Survivors include: two sons,
James Lee (Jan) Hershberger and Joseph B. (Janice) Hershberger, both of
Hillsboro; a daughter, Ann Alexander, Hillsboro; 10 grandchildren; and 15
great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, and
a sister, Zanne Kimbrell. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Maus
Funeral Home, Hillsboro, with Pastor Linda Lawler officiating. Burial was in
Rose Hill Cemetery, Hillsboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the
