John M. Hershberger, an employee of the Fountain County Highway Department, died shortly after noon Wednesday while at work near the Coffing Brothers Orchard. Mr. Hershberger had taken his lunch with him to the job but decided to return to his Yeddo home and have lunch with his wife. He returned for the afternoon work and sudenly died of a heart attack. He was the son of Adam and Harriet Myers Hershberger born October 11, 1880. He was married to Pearl Redenbaugh Oct 27, 1897. Surviving is the wife and 10 children: Mrs. Hazel Chalmers; Mrs.Theresa Gogen; Mrs. Ruby Ryan; Mrs. Wretha Featherston and Harry Hershberger all of Indianapolis; Mrs. Fred Ellis of Veedersburg; John Jr of Washington DC; Mrs. Iona Nale of Tangier; Victor and Eamier Hersbherger both of Yeddo and 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Mr. Hershberger was a farmer most of his life but had recently been employed by the highway department. Funeral services were Friday afternoon at Centennial Church with Rev. Bennett Fulp officiating. Burial in adjoining cemetery with Fishero Funeral Home in charge.
