KINGMAN - James L. Hepler, age 86, of Kingman, died Thursday, June 5, at the Danville Care Nursing Home where he had been a patient for several weeks. He was born in Parke County, May 9, 1883, the son of Addison and Lydia Warnick Hepler. He was first married to Frances Philpott, who preceded him in death on June 4, 1954, and he later married Clarice Newlin, who survives. Mr. Hepler was a former owner of the Kingman Hardware Store for 33 years. He was a member of the F&AM Lodge 314 for 63 years, Kingman Order of Eastern Star 204 and the Wallace Low 12 Club. He is survived by his wife. He was preceded in death by one brother and one half-brother. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a. m. Monday at the Woodrow Funeral Home here. The Rev. Kemp Tunis of Staunton, the Rev. Neal Newlin of Versailles, Ohio, and the Rev. Ruth Isaacs of Waveland officiated. Burial was in the Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. - jlr

Mr. Helper was a former owner of the Kingman Hardware Store for 33 years. He was a meber of the F & AM Lodge 314 for 63 years, Kingman Order of Eastern Star 204 and Wallace Low 12 Club. He was preceded in death by one brother and one half sister. Friends will be rec'd from 2-4 and 7-90 Sunday at the Woodrow Funeral Home in Kingman. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Kemp Tunis of Staunton, the Rev. Neal Newlin of Versailles, Ohio and Rev. Ruth Isaacs of Waveland, offic. Burial will be in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. Kingman Masonic Lodge will conduct services at the cemetery. The family has requested memorials be in the form of donations to the Cancer Fund. - kbz
