Veedersburg -- Funeral services were held at 1 p. m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Fishero Funeral Home for Harry H. Henthorne, age 74, farmer residing northeast of Veedersburg, who died at 5 p. m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the Robert Long Hospital in Indianapolis where he had been a surgical patient for 20 days. The Rev. Conley Rowland officiated. Burial was in Old Atherton Cemetery near Danville, Ill. Mr. Henthorne, who resided alone, was found in the basement of his home on Thanksgiving Day with a rifle wound in the head. It is believed the rifle was accidentally discharged as he was preparing to go hunting. He never regained consciousness. Born May 19, 1888, in Vermilion County, Ill., he was a son of Alva and Martha Rouse Henthorne. He was married in 1917 to Emma Steinbaugh who preceded him in death April 25, 1960. He was a member of the Vermilion Chapel Baptist Church at Snider, Ill. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Mary Hultz of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Anna Florey of Veedersburg; a half-sister, Mrs. Hazel Cannoven of Chicago and four grandchildren. --- typed by Walt W

VEEDERSBURG - Harry H. Henthorne, 74, farmer of this area, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday in Robert Long Hospital at Indianapolis. He had been a patient there the past 20 days after undergoing an operation. He was the victim of an accidental shooting at his home on Thanksgiving Day. Mr. Henthorne never regained consciousness and details of the accident were not available. He was the son of Allan and Martha Rouse Henthorne. He was married in 1917 to Emma Steinbaugh, who preceded him in death April 25, 1960. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mary Hultz of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mrs. Anna Florey of Veedersburg; a brother, Oscar Henthorne of Veedersburg; a half- sister, Mrs. Hazel Camnaven of Chicago, and four grandchildren. He was a member of the Vermillion Chapel Baptist Church of Snider, Ill. Funeral services will be at 1p.m. EST Saturday at the Fishero Funeral Home here. Rev. Conley Rowland will officiate and burial will follow at the old Atherton Cemetery at Danville, Ill. Friends may call at the funeral home. - jlr
