Anna Belle Henthorn, 81, Richmond, Ind., died at 1:10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, at Friends Fellowship Community Home in Richmond. She was born Aug. 15, 1905, in Penfield, Ill., the daughter of John W. and Ida Bessie McCoy Henthorn. She was a 1925 graduate of Perrysville High School, a graduate of Indiana State University in Terre Haute and a 1934 graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago. She did post-graduate work at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She taught art in Hibbard Junior High School in Richmond for 32 years, retiring in 1970. She was one of the original artists on the Covington courthouse murals. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richmond., Delta Kappa Gamma, the Madonna Rose International Travel Club, of which she was past president, BPW, and Retired Teachers of Indiana. Surviving are a brother, Charles R. Luton, Danville; two aunts, Mary Davidson, Crawfordsville, and Helen Demoret from Alaska, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pape Memorial Home and Gardens with the Rev. George Pope officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park. Those so desiring may contribute in memoriam to the charity of the donor's choice.
