Wingate -- Francis F. Henry, 46 of Wingate was fatally stricken with a heart ailment while at American Legion Home in Crawfordsville and was pronounced dead on arrival at Culver Hospital at 12:30 a.m. Thursday. He was employed 18 years with Meadow Gold Dairy. Mr. Henry was a son of Francis F. and Vera Crane Henry and was born here March 9, 1923. He was a 1941 graduate of Wingate HS and served 34 months in the Army in WWII. He was in the European Theater of Operations 28 months. He attended Pleasant Hill Church and was a member of Legion Post 174 of Wingate. Surviving are his wife the former Hilda M. Killey of Darlington to whom he was married Feb 27 1942 in that community; a daughter, Mrs. Sheila Clark; a son Larry Alan Henry; a grandson; his mother, Mrs. Vera Henry of Wingate; his grandmother, Mrs. Susie Crane of Crawfordsville; a brother, Benny Henry and sister Mrs. Louise Breedlove. His father preceded Mr. Henry in death in May 1963. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home in Waynetown. Rev. Homer Hunsinger of Wingate will officiate and burial will be in Crawfordsville Masonic Cemetery with Byron Cox Post 72 of the Legion conducting graveside rites.
