HENNIS, George H. - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

George H. Hennis of RR 1, Cayuga, age 62, died Friday morning, February 13, in St. Elizabeth Hospital at Danville, Illinois. He was born in Rockville, March 26, 1918, the son of Earl and Gertis Swickard Hennis. February 10, 1940, he married Geraldine Lanham, who survives.

  Hennis was a farmer and served on the Vermillion County Fair Board more than 20 years. He was a past president of the Tri-State Pony Pullers and was a reserve world champion pony puller.

  Also surviving are a daughter, Sharla Baumgart of RR 2, Covington; a son, Terry of RR 1, Cayuga; and five grandchildren.

  Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Malcolm DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga with Rev. Jack Holycross officiating. Burial was in Toronto Cemetery near Bono. – kbz
