Ethel Lulu Henderson, daughter of J.A. and Lula Sowers, was born in Parke County Ind., May 17 1889 and departed this life at her home in Rossville, Ill., March 18 1934 at the age of 44 years, 10 months and one day. Her mother preceded her in death sixteen years ago. At the age of 14, she was converted and united with the Ben d Methodist Church near Covington. On Oct 9 1912, she was united in marriage with George W. Henderson. They resided north of State Line till 1917 with the exception of one year when they lived in Brice, Ill. In 1917 upon moving to Pence, she united with the Pence Methodist Church. Two years ago Mr. and Mrs. Henderson moved to Rossville, where Mrs. Henderson has been a member of the Nazarene Church. Ethel was a serious minded seeker after truth and righteousness. She was light hearted and truly devoted to her home, her husband, her father, mother and friends. Her life was been one of devotion. Unsparingly she has spent her love and efforts to live a righteous life and to inspire others. Blessed are the dead, who died in the Lord. Mr. Henderson is survived by her husband, her father and other relatives and many neigbors and friends. The funeral was conducted at the Pence Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon with a former pastor, Rev. Lowell E. Morris of Indianapolis. Several songs were sung by Mrs. Vivian Stembaugh and Estel Amick, accompanied by Mrs. Ruth Larch at the piano. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetery near Covington.
