HELMS, Zone Allen - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Zone Allen Helms, 82, of Veedersburg Route 4, died Saturday Jan. 8, 1977 at the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette ,where he had been a patient a day. Mr. Helms formerly served as Fountain County auditor. A life resident of Shawnee Township, he farmed in the area before retiring. Mr. Helms was a graduate of Attica High and a member of the Union Christian Church. Born Dec. 17, 1894 in Veedersburg, he was a son of Frank and Minnie Palin Helms. On Dec. 24, 1932, in Veedersburg, he married Lyda Haverstick who survives. Other survivors include a son, Gale of Veedersburg Route 4; a daughter, Mrs. Victor (Betty) Kerkhove of Attica; two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Fern) Brown of Attica and Mrs. Charles (Elta) McCauley of Newtown, and four grand children. Services at the Dale Maus Funeral Home in Attica, with John Robert Walder officiating. Burial in the Union Christian Cemetery east of Aylesworth. - jlr
