Wert Helms, 86, a life resident of the Veedersburg community, died Thursday morning at his home. He had been ill a year and a half, and had been seriously ill since August.
Born September 10, 1878 at Veedersburg, he was the son of, James and Hanna Marlatt Helms. He married November 12, 1893 to Maude Feury, who survives.
Mr. Helms was a member of the Veedersburg E.U.B. Church and has been employed by the Town of Veedersburg, and the Indiana State Highway Department.
Others survivors include a brother, Harvey of Bradenton, Florida; and a sister, Mrs. Ada Carmichael of Malvern, Ark.
Services were held at the Fishero Funeral Home with the Rev. Samuel Pritchard officiating. Burial was in Rockfield Cemetery. - jz
