Veedersburg – Hardy Helms, 77 of Rt 1, Veedersburg died at noon Tuesday at Veterans Hospital, Danville, Ill. He had been in failing health for two years. He was born near here and in 1922 married Dossie Bonebrake. He was a farmer in his early life and later was employed by the New York Central Railroad and was a carpenter. Mr. Helms was a member of New Century EUB Church. He was a veteran of WWI and a member of VFW at Covington. Surviving are the widow; a son, Walter of Rt 1, Veedersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Catherine Ressett of Clarksville, Tenn and twin brother, Charley of Veedersburg.
Note: Hardy went overseas on October 4, 1918 as 1st Corporal of the 151st Headquarters Infantry, a part of the 76th Infantry Brigade of the 28th Division
