ATTICA, Ind. - Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Maus Funeral Home in Attica for Robert F. Helmerick, 56, of 417 West. He died at 5:05 p.m. Friday (Aug. 18, 1978) at St, Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. He had been ill a month. The Rev. Marvin Jones will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Attica. Friends will be received from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Eagle Memorial Services will be at 8 tonight at the funeral home. Born Oct. 15, 1921 in Attica, he was the son of Frank and Lala Cheney Helmerick. He was married to Catherine Jackson on Jan. 17, 1941 in Williamsport. She survives. He was a life resident of Attica and a graduate of Attica High. He was a foreman in the machine shop at Harrison Steel Casting Co. in Attica. He served as a radio operator in the Air Force during World War II, was a member of the American Legion Post 259 in Williamsport and the Disable Veterans. He also was a member of the Attica First United Methodist Church and Fraternal Order of Eagles. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Gary (Nancy) Hiller of Plainfield, and Mrs. Robert (Betty Jo) May of Attica; two brothers, Merle of Boswell and Cecil of Buck Creek; five sisters, Mrs. William (Martha) Dudley of Beech Grove, Miss Thelma Helmerick of Lafayette, Mrs. Leroy (Wilda) Burtus of Pine Village, Mrs. Woodrow (Gladys) Nolen of Attica and Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Tinsman of Flora and three grandchildren. The family has asked that memorials be in the form of contributions to the new intensive care unit at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. - jlr
