Mrs. Maude Hegg, aged 58, wife of Navy Lt. Lyle Hegg, former mayor of Covington died at 6:30 Monday evening of cerebral meningitis at the St. Joseph Hospital, Bloomington, Ill.  She was born July 9, 1891, near Danville, Ill daughter of Samuel and Marintha Martin who moved to Covington when Mrs. Hegg was about 14.  She was married to Lt. Hegg Dec 30, 1916. She was active in community affairs. She was a member of the Methodist Church, the Women’s Club, Musicale and Psi Iota Xi Sorority.  She served as organist at the church several years. Besides the husband and her parents, there survive a son, Billie Sam Hegg of South Bend and a daughter, Jean at home and two sisters, Mrs. Fletcher Coffing near Covington and Mrs. Freeman Bilsland of Indianapolis. - kbz
