KINGMAN — Ina Irene Heath, 98, 413 E. State, Kingman, died at 10:30 p.m. Monday, July 31, 2000 in West Central Community Hospital, Clinton. She was born Sept. 28, 1902 in Tangier, the daughter of James Bant and Marcia Swaim Lewis. She married Thomas K. Heath April 22, 1930 in Perrysville. He preceded in death Jan. 18, 1974. She was a graduate of Tangier High School and Indiana State University. She was an elementary school teacher for 42 years in Fountain and Parke County schools at Lodi, Frog Pond, Cates, Howard, Tangier, Steam Corner and Kingman. She was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers, A.A.R.P., Senior Citizens, N.G.O. Birthday Club and Hilltoppers. She enjoyed living, her home, flowers, gardening, animals, birds, antiques and her family history. Survivors include: two nieces, Jean Grimes, Rockville and Patricia (Jack) Jones, Covington; a nephew, James (Ruby) Lewis, Kingman; 11 grand nieces and nephews; and 11 great grand nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother and two sisters. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Thursday in Shelby Funeral Home, Covington, with Kenneth Majors officiating. Burial was in Kingman Fraternal Cemetery. – jlr
