COVINGTON, Ind. — Mrs. Bonnie Heath, 92, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday (May 10, 1978) at the Covington Manor Nursing Home. She had been ill some time and a patient there several years. Born July 30, 1885, in Chariton, Iowa, she was the daughter of Charles H. and Clara Glover Carwile. Her family returned to Indiana in 1892. She was a graduate of Covington High in 1905 and attended Indiana University at Bloomington, Indiana State Teachers College at Terre Haute and Florida Southern College in Gainesville, Fla. Mrs. Heath taught school for six years before her marriage to Archibald J. Heath on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 28, 1912. He preceded her in death. She made her home in Tampa, Fla., where she taught on the junior high level for 32 years. Ill health forced her to return to Indiana to reside with her sister in 1972. Mrs. Heath was a former member of the Presbyterian Church in Covington and transferred her membership to the Presbyterian Church in Tampa. She also was a member of the Business and Professional Women's Circle of the church, Aladdin Study League, American Association of University Women and National Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include her sister, Mrs. Harriet McKinney of Covington Route 1. She also was preceded in death by two brothers. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. George Pope will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. --waw
