CRAWFORDSVILLE — Jennie Viola
(Bernarte) Head, 83, formerly of Kingman and had been residing in the
Williamsburg Healthcare Center, Crawfordsville, died at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday,
Nov. 22, 2000 in St. Clare Medical Center, Crawfordsville. She was born Jan.
27, 1917 in Winter, Wisc., the daughter of Frank E. and Cassie B. Thomas
Bernarte. She married Alonzo L. Head Dec. 12, 1934 near Attica. He preceded in
death Jan. 5, 1984. She attended Judyville School and formerly lived in West
Lebanon from 1970 until 1983, when she moved to rural Kingman. She had resided
in the Kingman area for 16 years until moving to the Williamsburg Healthcare
Center in Crawfordsville, two years ago. She was a homemaker. Survivors
include: a daughter Mary (Richard) King, Crawfordsville; a son, Robert L.
(Sally) Head, Tilton, Ill.; a sister, May B. Dailey, Crawfordsville; six
grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m. Friday in Highland Cemetery,
Williamsport, with Richard King officiating. Maus Funeral Home, Attica, was in
charge of local arrangements. – jlr
