NEW RICHMOND — William Hayworth, 58, resident of this community for 10 years, died at 1 a.m. Thursday in the St. Elizabeth Hospital at Lafayette where he had been a patient for 10 weeks. He had been in failing health for five months. He was employed as a meat-cutter at Lafayette. Before moving here, Hayworth had lived in Otterbein. Born Oct. 18, 1905, at Mellott, he was the son of Walter E. and Alena Sclusser Hayworth. He attended school in Mellott and belonged to the First Church of Christ in Wingate. He was married May 23, 1924, to Iva Lena Froedge, who preceded him in death on Aug. 7, 1961. The survivors include the father, Walter E. Hayworth of Hammond; two daughters, Mrs. Rose Dawson of New Richmond and Mrs. Violet Frazier of Mead, Colo.; five sons, William D. of Rt. 1, Romney, Robert of Lexington Park, Md., Wilbur of Rt. 4, Lafayette, Gerald of Longmount, Colo., and James, stationed with the U. S. Navy at Norfolk, Va.; four brothers, Wilmer, his twin, who lives on Rt. 10, Lafayette, Herbert of Salt Lake City, and Ralph and Floyd of Hammond; 19 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the New Richmond Methodist Church, with Rev. Harold Clark in charge. Burial will be in the New Richmond Cemetery. Friends may call at the Helms Funeral Chapel in Linden after 1 p.m. Friday. The body will lie in state for an hour at the church. --typed by Walt W
