Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

OLIVET (CNS) --- Miss Joan E. Hayward, 48, of Olivet died at 10:30 a.m. Saturday (May 18, 1974) at her home. She had been in failing health for three years. She was born Jan. 18, 1926 near Perrysville, Ind., the daughter of Paul and Maxine Smith Hayward. She was a graduate of William Penn College and had been a teacher and a librarian. She was a member of the Vermilion Grove Friends Meeting. Her parents survive. Also surviving are three brothers, Joseph of Olivet, John of Eureka and Gene of New Egypt, N. J., three nephews and four nieces. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Houghton Funeral Home in Georgetown with the Rev. Lloyd King officiating. Burial will be in Vermilion Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be at 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.  --typed by Walt W
