HAYS, Harold D - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Harold Dewain Hays, 45, RR 2, Williamsport, died at 10 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Illinois. He was the father of Diana DeLong of Attica.

  Born August 10, 1938 in Hidalgo, Illinois, he was the son of Delphine and Oma Childers Hays. He married Carolyn K. Glidwell on June 15, 1958, who survives. He was an inspection clerk with General Motors Central Foundry Division Plant in Tilton, Illinois for 20 years, had attended the Baptist Church, and was a member of United Auto Workers Local 579 of Danville.

  Other survivors include his mother, of Greenup, Illinois; a son, Michael D. Hays of Riverside; a brother, Dwight Hays of Clinton, Illinois; a sister, Nila Fain of Casey, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers.

  Services were conducted Saturday at DeVerter Brothers Funeral Home in Cayuga with Rev. Grover Williams officiating. Burial was in Thomas Cemetery near Newport. -s-
