Covington - Mrs. Martha Hayman, 92, died at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in St. Elizabeth Hospital, Danville, IL where she had been a patient 4 days. She was a life resident of Fountain and Warren counties. For the four years she had lived with a daughter at Stone Bluff. She was born October 4, 1874 in Warren County, a daughter of Marion and Hannah Ballah Ballah. She married Joseph G. Hayman in 1901. Surviving are two sons, Lloyd of Rt. 3, Veedersburg and Lowell of Rt. 3; a daughter, Mrs Bertha Marie Payne of Rt. 4, Veedersburg; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Brashey of Rt 2, Covington and Mrs. Estella Mayhew of Attica; 18 grandchildren and 62 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1929 (sic - she is a widow in the 1910 census), two sons, two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be conducted this afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Covington Methodist Church with Rev. Raymond Buskirk and Rev. P.J. Hamilton officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour before services from her residence at 4th & Evans Streets. Burial in Upper Mound Cemetery.
