HAYES, Veeda - Fountain County INGenWeb Project

Veeda E. Hayes of Mishawaka, formerly of Covington, age 74, died Wednesday morning, March 9, in St. Joseph Hospital at South Bend. She was born in Pierre, South Dakota, October 27, 1909, the daughter of George and Ruth Nabors Rentz. December 17, 1932, she married Floyd Hayes, who died June 25, 1971.

  Mrs. Hayes graduated in 1927 from Covington High School and from Lakeview School of Nursing in 1931. She had been a private duty nurse in Danville, Illinois, and was a member of Lakeview Nurses Association.

  Survivors include a sister, Vera Lee Strange of South Bend, and a brother, George F. Rentz of Perrysville.

  Funeral services were held Saturday morning at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Rev. Richard Pippin officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park at Danville, Illinois. – thanks to S
