HAYES, Janet Ward

Lafayette -- Janet Marie Hayes, 73, 500 Northchester Lane, Lafayette died at 9 a.m. April 4, 1994 at Home Hospital, Lafayette. She has been ill for the past two years. She was born in Covington April 13, 1920, the daughter of William Thomas and Leota L. O'Connor Ward. She married Hughes Hayes, Sr, April 13, 1941. She was raised in Attica and attended Attica HS. She later moved to Lafayette where she worked as DIvision Manager for Sears for 15 years. She then worked as manager of Olan Mills for 25 years retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church, Lafayette. Surviving are a son, Hughes Hayes, Lafayette; a daughter, Janet Fritton, Lafayette; three brothers, WIlliam Ward and David Ward, both of Attica; Robert Ward, Mesa, Ariz; a sister, Laurean Floyd, Attica; six grandchilren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside services were held at noon Wednesday at Riverside Cemetery, Attica with the Revs. Matt Hodgen and Steve Viars officiating. Maus Funeral Home, Attica was in charge of arrangements.
