Veedersburg – Wilmer G. Hayden, 43 of 109 E. Third St, Veedersburg died at 9 p.m. Wednesday in VA Hospital, Danville, Ill where he had been admitted earlier that day.  Mr. Hayden had served with the US Army during WWII.  He had lived in Veedersburg the past two years and had been employed t Thomas’ Variety Store.  

He was a native of Attica, born March 9, 1924, a son of Frank and Ethel (Bennett) Hayden.

Surviving are a son, John of Covington; two daughters, Mrs. Susan Davis and Mrs. Connie Davis of Covington; three brothers, Thomas of Covington; Leroy of Indianapolis and John of Attica and two sisters, Mrs. Laveda Norgarr, residing in California and Mrs. Goldie Robinette of Green Hill, Ind.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Sever Mortuary here with Rev. Omar Walter officiating. Interment will be in the Veteran’s Cemetery at Danville, Ill where there will be military rites.  Service will be at the mortuary and visitation at __ and 7-9 p.m. Sunday

VEEDERSBURG, Ind. (CNS) -- Services for Wilmer G. Hayden, 43, Veedersburg, who died at 9 p.m. Wednesday (Jan. 31, 1968) at the Veterans Hospital in Danville where he had been admitted at 6 a.m. that morning will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Sever Mortuary with the Rev. Omer Walters officiating. Burial will be in the Veterans Cemetery at Danville. Graveside military rites will be held by the Protestant Chaplin of the Veterans Hospital. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Born March 9, 1924 at Attica, he was the son of Frank M. and Ethel Bennett Hayden. Mr. Hayden is survived by a son, John of Covington Route 1; two daughters, Mrs. Susan Davis and Mrs. Connie Davis both of Covington; three brothers, Francis of Covington, Leroy of Indianapolis and John of Attica, two sisters, Mrs. Laveda Norgarr of California and Mrs. Goldie Robinette of Green Hill. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a resident of Veedersburg for the past two years. He had been employed at the Thomas Variety Store in Veedersburg for the past two years.  --waw
