Jesse C. Hayden, 74, Rt. 4, Attica, died 5:30 a.m. Tuesday at Community Hospital in Williamsport. He had been in ill health for six months and hospitalized three weeks. He was born at Grange Corner, Parke County on April 14, 1900, the son of James Madison and Margaret C. Coble Hayden. He formerly lived in Parke County and had been a resident of Attica the past 40 years. He was married Feb. 7, 1942, at Crawfordsville to Myrtle Hull, who survives. He attended school at Kingman and had been a grinder at Harrison Steel Castings Co. in Attica for 40 years. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving with his wife are two step-sons, Charles Tanner, Attica; Alonzo Kizer, Phoenix, Ariz.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Margaret Derringer, Indianapolis; Geneva Covault, Kingman; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
