Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

COVINGTON, Ind. — Audra Hay, 68, of Perrysville Route 1 died at 6:40 p.m. EST yesterday (Feb. 6, 1969) at St. Elizabeth Hospital where he had been a patient three hours. Born June 7, 1900 in Gessie, he was the son of John W. and Hattie Hines Hay. He was married to Dorothy Stroud Aug. 25, 1920. She survives. Also surviving are six sons, Gene Hay of Covington, James Hay of Catlin, Ill., Robert Hay and Curtis Hay, both of Perrysville Route 1, Richard Hay of Marchfield and Charles Hay of Sidell, Ill.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Mrs. Mervel Hines of Perrysville and Mrs. Clarence (Merle) Smith of Danville, Ill., also survive. He, was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and a sister. A life resident of the Perrysville and Gessie area, Mr. Hay was a member of Modern Woodmen in Gessie and had worked as a trucker and farmer most of his life. Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Sunday at Bodine and Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with the Rev. William Rudd officiating. Burial will be in Lower Mound Cemetery near Perrysville. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today and Saturday afternoon and evening at the funeral home.  --typed by Walt W
