Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Mrs. Mabel Hawley, age 68, of 65 Lake St., Danville, a resident of that city for 32 years, sister of Mrs. Marjorie Wilkey, Jefferson St., and Mrs. Mary Beckett, Covington Rt. 2, died at 12:53 a. m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at St. Elizabeth Hospital where she had been a patient 10 days. Mrs. Hawley had been ill a year. Born July 28, 1892, in Dale Spencer County, Ind., she was the daughter of William E. and Mary A. Walter Brown. She married Dennis Hawley on Jan. 26, 1912, in Decatur. Mrs. Hawley was a member of the United Brethren Church in Obed, Ill., in Shelby County. Surviving are the husband; a son, Glenn W. of Kennewick, Wash.; four daughters, Mrs. Wilma Bartos of Peoria, Mrs. Ruth Ellen Reasor of Charleston, Mrs. Mary Alice Wayland of Danville, and Mrs. Jeanette Plecker of Noblesville; a brother, Ralph Brown of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Mrs. Wilkey and Mrs. Beckett, both of Covington; 23 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. A son and two brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services were Tuesday morning, Jan. 31, at the Edmund & Dickson Funeral Home and in Obed later in the day. The Rev. Cyril Jackson officiated.
