Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

Denning Haverkamp, 55, passed away at Unity Hospital, Grafton, North Dakota, Friday evening, September 17, 1976 at 10:00 p.m. He had been in ill health for three years, but his death was unexpected. He was born in Brazil, Indiana December 15, 1920. He graduated from Attica High School, Class of 1939. He moved to Attica 43 years ago. He was a member of the Indiana National Guard for 20 years and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He moved back to Drayton, North Dakota, May, 1975. He had worked at the Attica Armory, the Attica Hotel and Harrison Steel for a number of years, retiring three years ago because of ill health. He was a member of the Attica V. F. W., the American Legion and the Eagles Lodge and the United Methodist Church. He was active in the Fountain County Mental Health Association. He is survived by two sons, Bob and Dick Haverkamp, of Lafayette, and three grandchildren. Two aunts, Mrs. John Cane, Attica, and Mrs. Albert Nelson, Kulm, North Dakota. Services and burial at Drayton, North Dakota.  --waw
